Rip-Rap

Rip Rap is permanent, erosion-resistant ground cover of graded, angular stone. It is used to protect soil from erosion by slowing water velocity in areas subject to erosion due to concentrated runoff. Applications include slopes subject to weathering, stream banks, inlets and outlets for culverts, slope drains, grade stabilization structures. The size and the flat surface of this type of rock works well in gabion baskets.
