Chat is a term for fragments of siliceous rock. In the process of mining and screening fine washed sand, a course grained small gravel remains. This “small gravel” product larger than sand but smaller than pea gravel is created. Our Chat Minus contains some course sand and the Sized Chat is washed and virtually sand free. Many uses in landscaping and construction including shading pipes to dust control and horse arenas and pathways.
MCHAT Minus Chat is a 5/16″ minus small gravel and 1o to 20% course sand material.
SCHAT Sized Chat, a washed small gravel sized 1/8″ to 1/4″ virtually no sand.
